Reviews
“This book is the perfect guide for anyone who wants to be healthier and who wants to know why nutrition is important, and how to marry the two. Nutrivore goes into great detail about nutrition and just how crucial it is, and why we may have missed the mark on some of it. She describes what nutrients are needed, what have been missing and why they have been lacking, and what sort of diseases and illnesses can either be helped or prevented by this nutrition. I think this is such an awesome overview and really gets into the nitty gritty, but on a level that everyone will understand, no matter their background. There are facts, case studies, research, recipes, and more within this book. I can honestly say I learned so much! This is a book that I think everyone should read. Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ballantyne, and Simon Element for the eARC of this book.” – Kate on Goodreads
“I know Dr. Ballantyne has put more research hours into writing this book than anyone could possibly imagine. It is well organized, and I love that she takes the stigma away from foods. There’s no “bad” food, per se. Every food and food product has potential of delivering necessary nutrients. No longer do we need to focus on restrictive eating. We can focus on just filling our nutritional needs with high scoring foods the majority of the time and still leave room for treats. It’s practical, useful information, and in true Dr. Ballantyne fashion, it’s an easy read. I especially love the myth busting section. I will personally be using this book in my nutrition clinic.” – Dr. Hailey review on Amazon
“It’s well written, easy to read, and best yet, it’s evidenced based. The world of nutrition has an abundance of misinformation, this book is helpful to help get correct information from real experts and not documentaries that cherry pick data and fear mongers.” – Jessie review on Amazon
“This book is just what I’ve been looking for! I’ve never tried any diets for weight loss but instead have always wanted to ‘eat healthy’ without really knowing what that meant. This book discusses the nutritional values of foods. No food is ever demonized but instead the reader is given facts to help make informed choices. It’s actually fun to see how different foods compare nutritionally, and it’s helped me feel smarter when I walk into a grocery store, ready to load up my cart. The data is backed by research but the book never feels esoteric or science-y, probably because the author is so warm and relatable. I really can’t recommend this book enough!” – Dolphin’s review on Amazon
