Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion diced small
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or cooking fat of choice
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin (ground)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat cooking fat in a skillet over medium-high heat (cast iron works well).  Add ground meat, garlic and onion. Cook, stirring frequently to break up the meat, until fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.
  • Add spices to beef.  If you meat is really dry, you might want to add 1-2 Tbsp of water. Stir to fully incorporate.
  • urn temperature down to medium and cook another 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it smells so delicious you just can’t wait another second.
  • Serve on store-bought crunchy taco shells, cassava flour tortillas, or lettuce leaves with your favorite taco toppings.
