Italian Fennel Beef Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 3/4 teaspoon anise seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Grind fennel seed and anise seed in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
  • Using your hands, mix spices and ground beef thoroughly. Form sausage into 3 or 4 patties.
  • Heat skillet over medium-high heat and then add olive oil.
  • Cook sausage patties for 8-10 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for another 7-8 minute on the second side, until fully cooked.
